Membership strategies are structured in nature but vary in format, and should almost certainly be underpinned by corporate strategy. Content will provide an overview of the current member value proposition (MVP) and how this can be developed to improve member recruitment, retention, engagement, value and growth. Typically membership strategy documents contain full plans for the year ahead, proposed activity for future years and is formally agreed and signed off (and regularly reviewed) by senior staff and stakeholders.  Appendices to the document may include annual budgets, related key performance indicators, as well as recruitment, retention and engagement campaign schedules.
