He has 28 years’ experience of working with leading membership organisations including the British Dental Association, College of Optometrists, Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors, Royal College of Anaesthetists, Royal College of General Practitioners, Royal College of Nursing, Royal College of Psychiatrists and The Law Society.
His key sector achievements and experience cover strategy planning, review and creation, structural change/review, membership scheme development, new member acquisition and member retention optimisation, member value proposition creation and quality assurance, member engagement and experience development, business planning and development.
Rich has conducted strategic and operational membership focused consultancy/advisory services for over a decade and his specialist insight/experience is second-to-none.
Currently, Luke holds fractional leadership roles including Associate Director at MemberWise, BCLA CLEAR™ Programme Lead, Secretary General of the ACLM, and Company Secretary of the Employee Ownership Association.
As Chief Executive of BCLA (2020–2025), he delivered a five-year strategic plan, secured over £1.5m in sponsorship and grant funding, and led governance reform. Previously, at CILIP and RCOG, he modernized subscription models, drove international membership growth, and managed a £3m budget.
He is also Trustee and Company Secretary for Abbey Physic Community Garden, a Foundation Chartered Manager (CMgr CMI), and a founding Fellow of the Society of Association and Membership Professionals (SAMP).
