The MemberWise Network is unique as it is the only network led by practicing association and membership professional experts. Our insight is comprehensive, targeted and together we ensure the network is constantly growing, developing and driving measurable change, development and professionalism. We introduce the network’s Ambassadors below…
I am an Executive Director, and my role oversees several functions including the key member facing departments of marketing, member experience, and member recruitment. I have 10 direct reports. I have been working for CSSC since 2018, having been a member myself for over 20 years. I was previously a senior civil servant working primarily in the Ministry of Defence.
I was a speaker at MEMX 2023, and have chaired a speaker stream in 2024 and 2025. I believe the MemberWise Network is such an important resource to all membership professionals, and my team have gained so much from connecting with others. It is such a competitive market for people’s money now, and we (like many others) are continually trying to find ways to attract and retain members. Increasing member loyalty and improving our member experience are our top priorities.
I oversee key initiatives that enhance the member experience. My responsibilities include managing teams, implementing strategies to improve membership engagement, and leading digital transformation projects like the new CRM, website, and member portal. I aim to create environments where members can interact, learn, and share ideas.
I’m passionate about leveraging online communities to bring members together, share knowledge, and create meaningful connections. As a MemberWise Ambassador, I will advocate for developing and optimising these platforms as core benefits for membership.

My experience is multi-sector, covering technology, retail, supply chain, manufacturing and SME, with a local and global focus. What motivates me is creating strong propositions to drive strategic growth and customer value.
I’ve attended numerous MemberWise events over the past decade and taken part as a speaker, panellist and conference stream chair.
My focus is on understanding what our members want and delivering it in the most effective and engaging way possible. This includes leading on membership acquisition and retention strategies, overseeing the marketing of all SLCC products and services, and driving digital innovation to make our processes faster, smarter, and more member-focused.
I’ve attended numerous MemberWise events over the years, gaining valuable insight from the wider membership community. In 2025 I also had the opportunity to present at the MemberWise Digital Excellence conference, sharing our organisation’s approach to digital innovation and enhancing the member experience through smarter technology.
In my role I oversee all the membership functions as well as leading on our service delivery to members, candidates and other users.
Currently I have a team of 5 which administer all our membership processes and look after our members supporting them in managing their membership and accessing resources they require in their professional development journey.
Previous to my specific membership bodies experience I spent a number of years working in members fitness clubs, so a different kind of membership but it gave me a good background and understanding and gave me many of the skills and knowledge I use today.
I have been part of the network for 7 or 8 years and have always found it a great resource to learn from the experiences of others.

I have been with WorldCC for 3 years and this is my first experience of the membership industry. Previously I have worked as CIO/Programme Director for organisations such as UK Power Networks, Direct Line, Lloyds Bank, Zurich Insurance, Nationwide, Barclays and British Aerospace, delivering organisational and IT change.
Since joining WorldCC I was keen to understand more about how membership organisations worked. I quickly discovered MemberWise and attended a number of the events to learn about the industry and the challenges everyone else was facing. It was extremely helpful in my education and I am now privileged to be a part of that team.

My role is a key part of the management team for Royal Society of Chemistry membership and therefore delivery of our strategy.
I have been with the RSC for 12 years but I always say I started my career in membership as a member first joining the RSC as my professional body in 2009.
Over the last 12 years I’ve delivered several keynotes at MemberWise conferences often with a focus on engaging early career members and students and contributed to MemberWise thought leadership reports.
I’ve also been an active mentor as part of the mentoring program currently supporting my third mentee.

I have responsibility for driving marketing for B2B and Channel audiences and also for progression and membership marketing globally, I have 5 direct reports and an overall team of 14, located in the US, UK and APAC.
I have over 15 years of membership experience. I’ve been at ISC2 for just over two years and prior to that, was at the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) for 12 years.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is one of the world’s largest engineering institutions with membership of more than 156,000 engineering and technology professionals in 148 different countries.
My team consists of 34 people, based in UK, India and Hong Kong, but we support our members located all around the world. We sit within the IET’s Governance and External Engagement area.

This includes managing a dedicated team, enhancing member engagement, and developing programs that align with the institution’s mission. My role is integral to improving the member experience and expanding our reach.
I have over 20 years of experience in Membership organizations, having worked my way up within IMechE. My journey started in a more junior role, and through dedication and strategic thinking, I have significantly contributed to the Membership growth and engagement.

I lead the Membership and Workforce department at RCOG and work with a fantastic team of 11 responsible for member services, membership engagement, promoting careers in O&G and supporting and celebrating our doctors.
I’ve worked within the membership sector for 34 years at a variety of associations including the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, the Chartered Institute of Internal Audit and the Royal College of General Practitioners before joining the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
I always enjoy the learning and networking MemberWise events offer and encourage my colleagues to attend the annual Membership Excellence and Digital Excellence events. As a sector we do great things and it’s important to share best practice and learn from others. I’m a registered Mentor with the MemberWise Mentoring scheme which is a great initiative.

The challenge is to increase engagement in our governance, as well as making governance as open and transparent as possible to our membership and the wider public. The network has an immense reach, depth of knowledge and the ability to find solutions from colleagues from sectors that you don’t reach in the day job. Governance underpins all our roles and I hope to use the network to make this more accessible and understandable.

Throughout my career in membership, I’ve benefited from the expertise and generosity of others. In the same way, I hope to pass on what I’ve learned over the years.

Membership value is the very bedrock of our respective offerings and ensures our members have a long and happy relationship with us. As we all brace for a deep recession, the importance of member value will become even more important.
I hope to be able to focus on and share best practice and help remind the whole network of its importance and relevance from how we measure it to how we communicate, deliver and reap the benefits of it.

I’m looking forward to working with the Network to promote this vital area of work.

In my role as Ambassador, I will champion the critical importance of new member acquisition (in alignment with existing member retention) to enable sustainable and long term growth.

I am a keen supporter for introducing digital technologies to membership organisations, and using them for the benefit of members and membership professionals and I regularly chair tracks at network conferences.
I look after the Digital team here at the CISI nearly 40 people in the UK and our other main office in Sri Lanka, We are responsible for the maintenance and development of systems that provide a service to our members such as our member-facing platforms (MMS & website) as well as apps and other development activities. I also manage the data & analytics team who provide insights into membership as well as internal work. Lastly, I chair our organisation’s project management office who are responsible for our project portfolio, managing what work we decide to do and how it’s done.
I’m a regular attendee of MemberWise Network conferences and webinars as well as keen reader of the forums to understand challenges.

I have been an advocate of MemberWise for over 10 years and have been involved as a volunteer at conferences, facilitated sessions, and I enjoy the networking/best practice insight the network offers.

I have worked within the Membership and Association Sector for over 15 years in organisations including the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), British Veterinary Association (BVA), Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA), RIBA Enterprises and the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

I have long been an advocate of the MemberWise Network and since working at Coeliac UK I cannot remember not being a part of the network as it has guided so much of my work.

I am keen to talk to others about CPD and Professional Development. Having worked for several different membership bodies now, each with their own ways of working it is great to be able to learn from each other, share stories and talk about best practice so we can grow in knowledge together.

As Member wise Ambassador for leadership I would like to champion the cause of ‘everyday leadership’ and help people who are relatively early in their careers understand what this means to them and how to set them on a positive leadership path that will help them to direct their careers and find their purpose. For those who have been at it a while, I can’t stress enough how important it is to build networks and ask for help. It’s a cliché but it’s true, it can be lonely at the top, but to make good decisions you need to surround yourself with new ideas, proffered in a supportive environment.

I truly love working in membership and I am really passion about offering a good service and value to members. In my role as Ambassador I will be opening sharing my knowledge and experience from working in the sector for over 20 years.

Ensuring Data Protection is on the agenda for all membership organisations is key to ensuring customer / member confidence. As an ambassador I will advocate pragmatic advice is provided to enable organisations are clear in the way they operate to ensure compliance as well having confidence in their decisions.

I believe strongly that the sector must champion Member Value and will advocate that this sits at the core of all membership processes and activities. My advice is to commit time to get actively involved in the Memberwise network. Work through the training sessions and literature produced and network with colleagues and industry professionals as their experiences will support you within your role.

I strongly believe that we should provide a diverse range of accessible opportunities that enable all members to volunteer with and contribute to an organisation, whatever their availability and skills.

I believe numbers tell stories especially when related to money. I’m an advocate for ensuring finance staff are present when strategic discussions are taking place.

I believe that CPD is an important part of being a professional, it supports developing new skills and knowledge needed to maintain a successful career.
