(Free One-Day Event / Tuesday 13th October 2026 / Novotel London West / London)

Join us for our next Membership Solutions Day, 13th October 2026 — a free, interactive, face-to-face event exploring this year’s theme:

“The Connected Membership Organisation: Integrating Technology, Data & Member Experience”

Membership organisations rely on technology more than ever before, yet many are still held back by disconnected systems, duplicated processes and fragmented data. CRM, websites, learning platforms, events, finance, marketing automation and community platforms all play an important role, but when they don’t work together, neither do your teams or your member journeys.

Membership Solutions Day will explore how professional bodies and associations are creating connected technology ecosystems that improve efficiency, strengthen reporting, enhance member engagement and support better decision-making across the organisation.  The event will showcase practical approaches that help organisations remove silos, unlock the full value of their existing systems and deliver a more seamless member experience.

Panel Discussion: Connected Membership: The Integration Reality for Associations

Creating a truly connected membership organisation sounds simple in principle but the reality can be very different. Disconnected systems, fragmented data, competing internal priorities and legacy processes can all make it difficult to deliver the seamless, joined-up member experience organisations are aiming for.

In this opening panel, three association and membership professionals will share their first-hand experiences of tackling integration challenges within their organisations. We’ll explore what prompted change, where the biggest barriers have been, what they have learned along the way, and where they are still working to join the dots.

Speakers:

Julian Davis, COO, World Commerce & Contracting

AI As A Colleague – Connecting Your Organisation 24/7

Imagine having an AI agent that behaves like a colleague on your Teams channel – watching for membership issues and opportunities, assigning specialist agents when a question needs different expertise, and keeping you updated on progress 24/7.

Alex Skinner shares how associations can use AI as an extension of their team – from automating recurring tasks  such as board reports, analysing engagement, tracking renewals and logging opportunities. Discover how your organisation can use AI as a colleague who is there for you day and night.

Your Knowledge Doesn’t Have to Stop at Your Website

Instead of members coming to fetch information from your website, a governed AI agent can bring your trusted content to them, inside the tools they already have open, the moment they need it, shaped to their context rather than handed over as another generic PDF.

This presentation will explore how membership organisations can use governed AI to make their trusted knowledge more accessible, relevant and useful to members. Rather than expecting members to visit a website, search through resources or download another PDF, discover how AI can bring the right information directly into the tools they already use – shaped around their needs and context.

The session will look at how organisations can:
• Extend the reach and value of existing content and knowledge
• Deliver trusted information within members’ everyday workflows
• Use AI to provide more relevant, contextual member experiences
• Maintain appropriate governance and control over organisational knowledge

Navigating the Route: An interactive workshop to define destinations and map journeys

If objectives and desired outcomes are unclear, how can membership organisations understand the journeys, connections and choices that will help them get there? In this interactive workshop, we’ll work together to explore the relationship between organisational ambition and member experience: what the organisation is trying to achieve, what members need for that to happen, and how technology, data, learning and other parts of the experience can connect around a shared destination.

Starting with practical challenges rather than expecting attendees to arrive with all the answers, we’ll collectively identify destinations, surface roadblocks and consider possible routes forward. Through guided discussion and collaborative problem-solving, we’ll explore how membership bodies can improve member value while driving organisational impact.

Expect discussion, problem-solving and shared insight as we collectively navigate the route from member need to organisational impact.

Learning objectives

  • Discuss current challenges and opportunities with others and leave with practical takeaways for your organisation
  • Identify where current journeys are breaking down and which gaps matter most
  • Explore how technology, data, learning and member experience can work together to support priorities such as engagement, retention, reach, efficiency and sustainability
  • Understand how to frame approaches to impact wider organisational goals
  • Learn from your peers in this unique, brand-new format

The SaaS Paradox: Why Membership Technology Is Still So Hard
Worldwide software application revenue has doubled in the last five years. There is now a SaaS product for almost everything. So why are membership organisations still relying on spreadsheets, workarounds, duplicate data and clunky member portals? The problem is no longer a lack of software. It is the complexity of making it all work together. As organisations move away from monolithic, custom-built platforms and towards best-of-breed SaaS, they gain flexibility, but they also inherit a new challenge. CRM in one place. Events in another. Payments somewhere else. Content on a separate platform. Identity and access sitting across them all. And in the middle is the member, who simply expects to log in once and get what they paid for. That sounds simple. Delivering it often is not.

This session will explore:

  • Why membership technology is still so complicated, despite the explosion of SaaS and purpose-built platforms
  • Where the real administrative and technical costs are hiding
  • What a more flexible, sustainable technology architecture could look like
