The MemberWise Network is the leading free best practice network for membership and association professionals in the UK/EU. This year we embark on an ambitious programme to tool up the sector in response to the requirement to grow. Here is where we start.

We wholeheartedly believe that common roles within Membership Organisations and Associations need to be represented within the Network, so that professionals conducting these roles have a ‘natural home’ or place where they can go to access targeted and practical help and support.

This help and support (featuring unique thought leadership, knowledge, experience and insight) is best championed by senior professionals who are ‘at the top of their game’ within these common areas. So, we are now recruiting for the following MemberWise Ambassador (volunteer) Roles:

  • Ambassador (Digital Transformation) x 1
  • Ambassador (Human Resources and Workforce) x 2
  • Ambassador (Events) x 2
  • Ambassador (PR and Communications) x 1

The time requirement for the above roles is relatively low and will be fully supported/championed by the MemberWise Network.

We asked a selection of our current Ambassadors why they volunteer:

“I am a MemberWise Ambassador because I’m passionate about my particular membership related discipline of new member acquisition, and I also both enjoy and feel it’s important to give back and support the broader membership community, as harnessed by the MemberWise Network. Together we’re stronger…”
(Ian Oxley, Head of Supporter Recruitment, The National Trust / Ambassador – New Member Acquisition)

“I am a MemberWise Ambassador because I am passionate about CPD and the importance of this within my sector but also for any professional. I have had many interesting conversations as part of this role. I love hearing from other membership bodies and hearing their stories, sharing best practice and helping them with queries where I can.”
(Katherine Bunting, Director, IPEM / Ambassador – CPD & Learning)

“I am a MemberWise Ambassador because I want people working in the sector to find out about the wonderful resource available to them. Free of charge. It’s delightful to be able to tell them of the guides, webcasts and reports available, and even better to introduce them to the community, where members are so generous with their time and expertise. All free – I know I said that before, but I often have to say it twice, people don’t believe it.”
(Sarah Alder, Consultant / Ambassador – Community)
